Owner, manager falling out leads to business dispute with a Trump

When people who are in business together in Fort Lauderdale, and elsewhere, have a falling out, it can affect their ability and willingness to continue working with each other. As a result, business associates who find themselves in this type of situation will often decide to go their separate ways, which can cause customers and clients to pay the consequences of the split.

According to reports, a corporate dispute involving the owner of an investment firm and Melania Trump, Donald Trump’s wife, is in large part a result of a falling out between the investment firm’s owner and the man he had formerly entrusted to manage that firm. The man reportedly filed a lawsuit requesting to have a contract between New Sunshine LLC, a company that was overseen by the man’s investment firm, and Trump declared invalid. He claimed that the now former manager of his firm did not have the authority to negotiate or sign the document on the company’s behalf. He claimed the contract was signed five months after he had informed his former associate that he was no longer the manager of the firm.

For her part, Trump reportedly contends that she was not aware of the internal problems and should not be held responsible for them. According to reports, she has filed arbitration on her behalf because New Sunshine did not hold up their end of the deal. Her product line was not launched in 2013, as it was supposed to be, and she has not been paid any of the payments, including royalties, she was owed according to the contract.
