Health services company settles contract dispute

On Behalf of | May 6, 2014 | Contract Disputes |

In business, a number of complicated issues can arise. However, contract disputes can be particularly bitter, which is why anyone dealing with this should make sure to address the problem properly. In Fort Lauderdale and other Florida cities, people who have to deal with this dilemma may want to consider contract negotiation and counsel. Whether there are disagreements over a real estate contract or business contracts, any company or individual going through this should understand their options and identify the best way to move forward.

A health services company headquartered in Tennessee recently agreed to pay $9.4 million to settle an ongoing contract dispute with one of their former clients. According to the company, a $4 million payment will be made in 2014, and a final payment of over $5 million is scheduled for January 2015. However, they are also offering a discount on their services as an alternative to the 2015 amount.

In 2010, the health services company was accused of violating the terms of its contract with their client, who asked to be reimbursed for what they had paid towards the contract. Disagreement led to a hearing in 2013, when both of the companies expressed their interest in reaching a settlement.

When a breach of contract occurs, some people may want to consider taking legal action. However, it is imperative to take the right approach with regard to the legal system. Understanding the ins and outs of the law can be complicated, which is why discussing the situation with a knowledgeable legal professional could be a smart move.
