Biography

Attorney Williams, was born in Kingston, Jamaica but grew up in Chicago, Illinois. He graduated from University of Illinois with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with emphasis in marketing and organizational behavior. Attorney Williams attended the University of Florida Fredrick G. Levin College of Law, from which he graduated with his Juris Doctor in 1994.

Since graduating from law school, Attorney Williams has had a long and distinguished career in law and public service. He served as a prosecutor for approximately two years in the Twentieth Judicial Circuit, in the city of Fort Myers, Florida; and he is currently a shareholder in the Law Offices of Levi Williams, P.A. in the city of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where he has practiced for approximately fifteen years, offering his clients value-added, affordable, and personalized professional services.

Attorney Williams' practice suite is diverse and includes: Corporate & Contracts, Governmental Relations, State and Federal Litigation, Employment & Wage Claims, Premises Liability, Negligence, Torts, and Wrongful Death, and Personal Injury matters. He has handled many high-profile matters and litigations earning him the respect of his peers in being awarded the Florida Bar's 2008 "Professionalism Works Award" and the Legal Aid Service of Broward County's coveted "The Russell E. Carlisle Advocacy Award"- 2006.

He has served our community by volunteering his expertise and time on a variety of state and local non-profit boards. Some of the boards upon which Attorney Williams has served over time include: Florida's Council on The Social Status of Black Men and Boys, Broward College, Minority Development & Empowerment, Inc., Urban League of Broward County, Friends of Children, Sickle Cell Disease Association of Broward, and the Gold Coast Jazz Society, just to name a few.

Attorney Williams' efforts in championing education, diversity, and health issues have been recognized by some our community's leading agencies where he was also honored with the following recognitions: "The Margaret & Cato Roach Award in Human Relations" by The National Conference for Community and Justice (NCCJ)-2005; JM Family's "African American Achievers Award, Business & Entrepreneurism"- 2006; The American Diabetes Association's "Valor Award", 2006; Leadership Broward's "Leader of the Year Award", 2007; and he was honored to be included in the inaugural edition of "Who's Who In Black South Florida" in April of 2007. His professional and community based efforts have been the subject of many articles over the years. Some articles chronicling his efforts include: South Florida Business Journal's article titled Heavy Hitters In Education, in its 4/27/07 Edition; Broward Times article titled "Who's Who In Black South Florida: High-Profile Attorney Makes Impact with Low-Key Persona", in its, 12/7-12/13, 2007 edition, and many other articles which can be found on the web and in the Miami Herald and Sun-Sentinel. Attorney Williams is also regular commentator on a variety of business and political radio programs here in Florida and Jamaica and an independent writer to some of our community's news and business periodicals.

As an immigrant American, Attorney Williams believes in being involved in the political processes. His contributions in local, state and national politics are renowned. Most recently he served as the Broward County Chair for the 2010 Gubernatorial Campaign of now Governor Rick Scott. He has served on the campaign leadership team and/or transition teams for Governor Jeb Bush, Governor Charlie Crist, Attorney general Bill McCollum, Attorney general Pam Bondi and many others.

Attorney Williams' favorite personal quote is:
