From a corporate contract to an agreement between union workers and their employer, contracts are a crucial part of conducting business. However, in Fort Lauderdale and throughout Florida, disputes arise from time to time. Breach of contract may require contract review and could result in litigation, which is why it is so important for all parties to always abide by the terms of a contract. In the event of legal action, those involved should closely review their options. Also, when companies don’t approach contract negotiations properly, the consequences can be costly.
After announcing an increase in the cost of admission, Walt Disney World employees want a new contract. Over 60,000 people are employed at the theme park, some of whom participated in a protest that recently took place in Lake Buena Vista. The protesters were asking for higher pay and improvement to their benefits and pension plans a week ahead of scheduled negotiations with Walt Disney World.
The theme park disclosed the higher ticket prices one day before the protests, which marks the second time they have raised the cost of admission in the past year. A number of employees took part in the rally, including restaurant staff, ride operators and housekeepers.
When contract disputes arise, the whole experience can be expensive, time-consuming and stressful. For some companies, conducting business on a daily basis is difficult enough without the complications that may come with litigation.
